THE WOMEN OF THE CHURCH (GLCW) are collecting items for Lutheran World Relief (LWR) Kits. These kits will be packed and shipped along with the handmade quilts on September 19. Kits and Quilts will be on display in the sanctuary for Thankoffering Weekend on September 17 & 18.
The following is a list of items needed for each kit. If you are able to help, please bring your items to the church office or place in the box marked LWR at the sanctuary entrances.
PERSONAL CARE KITS: one light-weight bath towel (20×40 to 52×27) dark color recommended, bath size bars of soap 8-9 oz in original wrapper, adult size toothbrush in original package, sturdy comb (NO picks or fine tooth), metal nail clippers.
BABY CARE KITS: lightweight cotton t-shirts (NO onesies), long or short sleeved gowns or sleepers (NO feet), receiving blankets, jackets, sweaters or sweatshirts with hoods or include a baby cap (sizes 6 – 24 months), socks, hand towels – dark color recommended, bath sized bars of gentle soap 8-9 oz in original package, diaper pins or large safety pins.
SCHOOL KITS: 70 sheet spiral notebooks – wide or college ruled (NO loose leaf paper), 30 centimeter rulers (these can be one side centimeters; other side inches), pencil sharpener, blunt scissors, unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers, black or blue ballpoint pens (NO gel pens), crayons – boxes of 16 or 24, 2 1/2” erasers.
