MAUNDY THURSDAY – April 18 – Worship begins at 7:00 p.m. and will include Holy Communion and Stripping of the Altar.
GOOD FRIDAY – April 19 –
Community Service – “The Way of the Cross” – a devotion to the Passion of Christ which recalls a series of events at the end of Jesus’ life from his condemnation to his burial. The Way of the Cross imitates the practice of visiting the places of Jesus’ Passion in the Holy Land by early Christian pilgrims. In the protestant tradition, the way of the cross has fourteen stations that mark Jesus’ journey from the Garden of Gethsemane to the tomb.
On Good Friday at 12 noon, we will gather at Grace Lutheran Church, 705 W. State Street, as a community of Christians from several different denominational traditions in the city of Fremont, to take up the cross and journey with Jesus from his trail to the tomb. We will pray, sing, and hear again from scripture of Jesus’ passion.
The annual Good Friday Fish Fry – serving begins at 5pm in the Dining Room; carry-out available.Tickets must be purchased in advance in the church office.
Tenebrae Service – this service of darkness will begin at 7:00 p.m in the Sanctuary.
EASTER WEEKEND – April 20/21 – Celebrate Easter with worship on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. or Sunday at 7:45 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. Worship will include Holy Communion and Vocal Choirs! Easter Breakfast will be served Sunday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
